European Board of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (EBGH) Examination
The European Board of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (EBGH) Examination is designed to assess a candidate’s knowledge and understanding of the clinical sciences relevant to specialist medical practice, and of common or important disorders to a level appropriate for a newly appointed gastroenterology and hepatology specialist.
Applying for the EBGH Examination

The next examination will take place on 20 April 2016.
Applications for the 2016 examination will be accepted between 16 December 2015 and 27 January 2016.
The fee is €600.
We have recently identified a technical issue in the online application for the EBGH examination and steps have been taken to ensure that those candidates affected by this technical issue will be able to sit the EBGH examination to be held on 20 April 2016.

How to apply
The EBGH Examination is a computer-based examination and is administered by Pearson VUE at a test centre in countries affiliated to the European Board and Section of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
The EBGH Examination is open to candidates from all countries throughout the world but it is only possible to sit the examination in Pearson VUE centres in countries affiliated to the European Board and Section of Gastroenterology & Hepatology.
The application process is:

- request test country and city
- pay applicable fee
- application is confirmed by email within 4 weeks of the closing date.

Special Examination Arrangements
